Have you ever been addicted to TLC or Discovery Channel documentaries of birth and adoption stories? I personally spent a good deal of 2003 and 2005 when expecting Charlie and Eve glued to the telly, with the goal of each show of course being to burst into a sloppy mess of tears as I watched a baby placed on a woman's stomach in a maternity ward or placed into her arms in an airport or other adoption site.
Now I have a new fixation - Suzie and Steve, a couple who after two miscarriages is expecting a healthy baby. This series is so totally well-produced and real. It's not cheesy or commercial, though Pampers is the sponsor. I just love that the diaper company has taken all those zillions of dollars I've spent on Swaddlers, Cruisers, and Diego and Dora Easy Ups (I'm talking mega bucks, people) and produced something so relatable. As someone who has had miscarriages and has got that baby-yearning feeling, I have to warn you - bring on the Kleenex.
I've embedded the A Parent is Born player here in this post and on the left-hand sidebar of APISS. If you too become baby-story obsessed with this couple's journey or feel like catching a new episode during a boring conference call or your kid's nap, come on over to the APISS homepage for your belly-love fix. Spoiler: They have a (human) baby!
